General information on MCC Beowolf cluster

MCC now has a Linux cluster for development, testing, and application of parallel Materials Science codes. This documentation covers the basic information on how to use the MCC Beowolf cluster as of 10/30/2005.
Cluster Administration

- MCC Affiliates may request an account on the cluster
- To mailing list for MCC Beowolf cluster users is mccbw-users (at) mcc.uiuc.edu. The list archives are viewable at mcc0.mcc.uiuc.edu/pipermail/mccbw-users/.
Monitoring MCC BW cluster
- Cluster Status (Ganglia): shows number of CPUs and hosts up, etc.
- Cluster Top (Process Viewer): lists the processes running on the cluster
- SGE Job Queue: shows where your job is in the queue, and runtime of current jobs
